Smile: it’s Boris!

Mε μεγάλη ευχαρίστηση, ο βλαξ ο εκπομπατζής σας δΓιαπιστώνει ότι δεν είναι ο μόνος που τα έχει κάνει πάνω του με το νέο Boris, ‘Smile’. Tα ώς τώρα μηνύματα από συνακροατές σταθερούς, φίλους πιστούς, αλλά και από περαστικούς από το εκπομπικό μα-γα-ζά-κι-μας (γιαπωνέζικα είναι αυτά) δείχνουν ότι όλοι έχουμε παρασυρθεί από την έμπνευση, τον όγκο, το επιβάλλον τού άλμπουμ τούτου. Είναι, όμως, έτσι; Γουστάρουμε όλοι τόσο ακραία το νέο Μπόρις; Ας βάλουμε μπροστά έναν μηχανιζμό δημοψηφίζματος ασούμε. ΌπΧοιος αγαπά στέλνει σχόλιο στο παρόν ποστ. Μας άρεσε ή όχι το Σμάιλ; Είμαι περίεργος να δΓιαβάσω τα σχόλια.

According to my personal theory, most surprises are unpleasant. Of course, there are pleasant surprises, only they are few, and hard to happen. I was thrilled to experience a very pleasant surprise, when, this very morning, upon opening my mailbox, I found a small package from Australia. The sender was none other than Douglas P., the DeathInJune man, who resides Down Under. The package contained a DIJ postcard, handwritten and signed by the man himself, as you can see in the photo I took and uploaded here. Also, enclosed was the brand new release from Death In June, a live record, called BLack Angel - Live! (pictured in the photo, too). Black Angel - Live! (Leprosy Discs, LEPER CD 08) is sort of an unexpected release. The material here -a very recently unearthed live recording- well documents a great performance at the Esplanade Hotel in Melbourne, Australia in May, 2000. The album features stripped back (acoustic) incarnations of Douglas’ songs. It comes as a digipak, with an artwork that somehow matches the latest Death In June studio offering, The Rule of Thirds, which Soleilmoon Records (thanks, Charles Powne!) has been kind enough to ship to me. For all you fetish-maniacs out there, Black Angel - Live! is a limited edition of 2,000 signedfoil-blocked Digipaks. Both The Rule of Thirds and Black Angel - Live! will be on our radio playlists for quite some time, just for our pure listening pleasure.

Αμέσωζ μετά τη μετάδοσή της (και κατά τη δΓιάρκεια της εκπομπής), θα πάει στΗν ΚυβερνοχώρΑ, να συναντήσει τις υπόλοιπες ιστορίες τού www.simandiras.blogspot.com.

Aκόμη, στην playlistα μας θα τρυπώσουν -μπρρ...- οι ‘Σκελετοί’, το νέο και γαμηστερό στούντιο άλμπουμ τού επικεφαλής τού μονδέρνου zombie-rock, Wednesday 13 (‘Skeletons’, στην Ελλάδα από τη Soundforge Music Group --thanks, Vanessa!).
